Reese Witherspoon only split from Jake Gyllenhaal two months ago, but it appears she may have already found a new man.

The Oscar winner, 33, was spotted enjoying an intimate meal for two with Hollywood agent Jim Toth at an Italian restaurant last week. A fellow diner at the Locanda eaterie in Santa Monica said the actress and her handsome companion were ‘very flirtatious’ and ‘very friendly’ throughout their meal. Witherspoon met Toth – who works for the Creative Artists Agency – in the restaurant and spent two hours with him huddled in a corner.

An onlooker told People magazine: ‘They were very flirtatious throughout dinner. ‘They were having a lot of fun, totally getting along and laughing and talking the whole dinner.’Reese seemed very happy. She was smiling all dinner. The mood was upbeat and really good.’

Following the meal, Toth gentlemanly paid the bill and the two parted away in the car park outside. The onlooker added: ‘Reese reached around his neck and pulled him close for a hug. They kissed bye on the cheek – but it was a very friendly goodbye.’ A friend of Toth’s told the magazine it was ‘a date’, but added it was ‘nothing serious’. Witherspoon’s dinner date comes after her quiet split for Gyllenhaal in December after a three year relationship.

The couple met on the set on Rendition in late 2006 – a few months after Reese split from ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, father of her two children Ava, 10, and Deacon, six. Sources close to the couple said the relationship just ran its course naturally.A friend told U.S. TV network E!: ‘They needed time to figure it out and they were on different coasts, When they were finally together, they talked it out and decided they’re not going to be together any more.

‘There are no other people involved. The relationship just ended. It just fizzled. But they also wanted to be careful and private about it because of Reese’s kids.’
